Second reading Oct 6Nashville's transportation department would be required to post 'No Turns On Red' signs at signalized intersections in the Urban Services District, banning right turns on red at those locations unless an engineering and safety study shows the movement poses no added risk to pedestrians, cyclists, or transit users. NDOT must identify qualifying intersections and install signage within nine months, starting with 59 already-identified locations within three months, and a public education campaign must run before full enforcement begins. Within a year of implementation, NDOT must report to the Metro Council on crash data, traffic impacts, and whether the prohibition should expand beyond the Urban Services District.
